For the first time this evening we wore our winter clothes - or most of them. My coat doesn't have the liner in and no long underwear for me, yet! This is the first time we went out with our shapka hats. I tell everyone that mine is genuine Siberian wolf which I killed with my bare hands. It's a little fluffier than many - I love it. After wearing it tonight as we walked around town in the 7 degree farenheit night air I REALLY loved it! Sherry loves hers as well. The scarf is perfect - thank you Lynn Rose! - there is a certain way to wrap it around your neck so you can lift it over your face and nose - you really need that because your nose gets COLD! The fun thing is that it will be 30 or 40 degrees colder as the winter progresses - and it will be blowing snow. We've been told the snow starts in January and will stay through April or May...
Transfers this weekend - we're losing one of our zone leaders Elder Christensen and one of our Sisters Sister Moffett. Elder Christensen has been in Saratov nine months - it's very difficult for him to leave. One of the APs is replacing him. The AP - our new zone leader - is here for his last transfer. Between now and April 27 missionaries go home - that's out of 70 total in the mission. Huge changes. We're starting to love our fellow servants, that's for sure.
