Victory Park, Views of Saratov, & Some Cool Military Stuff

Today we and the zone leaders visited Victory Park which overlooks Saratov.  It's a memorial of The Great Patriotic War - WWll.  As you may remember Russia lost 20,000,000 citizens in that conflict.  I've attached some pictures of the entrance sign which welcomes you to a national park.  I'ce also got a pic of the memorial which you can see from all over Saratov.  And there's a happy couple standing near it as well!

Here are some pictures of Saratov from Victory Park.  There is a picture of a Russian Orthodox temple, another temple near the famous Saratov Bridge - formerly one of the longest bridges in the world.  Built over twenty years - I think around the forties. The picture of the two tall buildings show where our apartment is...we live a block away from them. In my last set of pictures I forgot to say that one of them is a picture of me and the zone leaders.  Incredible Elders and wonderful leaders.

Here's some cool military stuff - an artillery piece, some rockets, a Russian bomber, a helicopter and a memorial to the indomitable Russian spirit. After we got home Sherry made spaghetti for the first time - turned out great - and she made apple squares and brownies for Family Home Evening (FHE) and for institute class tomorrow.  We had a good FHE tonight and we'll continue to build friendships.
